Washington, Indiana — The Daviess County Visitors Bureau is thrilled to announce the launch of new grant programs designed to support and boost local tourism initiatives across the county. These programs aim to encourage innovative projects and events that will attract visitors, enhance the quality of place, and showcase the unique charm of Daviess County.


The grant programs are open to nonprofits and community organizations that are committed to developing tourism-focused projects. Funding can be used for a variety of purposes, including event promotion, marketing campaigns, and quality of place projects that enhance the community.


“We are excited to offer these grant opportunities to our community,” said Amber Warden, Executive Director of the Daviess County Visitors Bureau. “Our goal is to empower local organizations to create compelling experiences that highlight the rich heritage and vibrant culture of Daviess County. By investing in these initiatives, we are not only enhancing tourism but also supporting local economic growth.”


Applications for the grant programs are now open and available. Interested parties can find detailed guidelines and application forms on the Daviess County Visitors Bureau website. The deadline for submissions is May 31, 2025, and successful applicants will be notified by June 30, 2025.

Daviess County, Indiana, is seeking proposals from qualified consulting firms to conduct a comprehensive feasibility study for the development of an events/convention center. This facility aims to enhance the county's capacity to host various events and conventions, thereby boosting local economic growth and community engagement.


Project Overview:

The feasibility study will assess the potential for constructing and operating an events/convention center in Daviess County. The study should provide a detailed analysis of the market demand, financial viability, site selection, and potential economic impact. It should also explore operational models and provide recommendations on design and construction.

 

Scope of Work:

1. Market Analysis:

  • Assess current and projected demand for event and convention facilities in the region

  • Identify potential user groups, including corporate, social, and community events

  • Evaluate competitive facilities within a defined radius

 

2. Financial Analysis:

  • Provide a detailed financial model, including potential revenue streams and expenditure forecasts

  • Estimate the capital costs required for development and identify potential funding sources

  • Conduct a cost-benefit analysis to determine the project's economic viability

 

3. Site Analysis:

  • Identify and evaluate potential sites within Daviess County

  • Consider accessibility, infrastructure, and environmental factors in site selection

 

4. Economic Impact Assessment:

  • Analyze the potential economic impact on local businesses and the community

  • Estimate job creation and other economic benefits from the proposed facility

 

5. Operational Models:

  • Explore various operational and management structures

  • Provide recommendations on the most effective model for the facility

 

6. Design and Construction Recommendations:

  • Offer preliminary design concepts and space analysis

  • Provide cost estimates for design and construction

 

Proposal Requirements:

  • Company Background: Provide a brief overview of your firm, including experience with similar projects

  • Project Team: Identify key personnel and their qualifications

  • Methodology: Describe your approach to completing the feasibility study

  • Timeline: Outline the project timeline, including key milestones

  • Budget: Provide a detailed budget proposal, including all associated costs

  • References: Include contact information for at least two references from similar projects

  

Submission Guidelines:

  • Proposals must be submitted by April 30, 2025

“The Daviess County Visitors Bureau recognized the need for a new website to enhance the visitor experience and better showcase the unique attractions and offerings of the area,” said Executive Director, Amber Warden. “The previous site lacked modern functionality and did not effectively communicate the local events happening daily in Daviess County.” The hope is to create a user-friendly platform that not only informs potential visitors about local events, dining, and accommodations but also inspires them to explore what the county has to offer. By improving accessibility and visual appeal, the goal is to increase tourism and foster a stronger community connection.


Moving forward, the Daviess County Visitor Bureau intends to help small businesses and organizations use the tools included to simplify marketing on their own websites, social media, and beyond. Organizations and businesses that create their free Locable account, will gain a free microsite and will automatically gain access to publish events to our Community Calendar while sharing on their own social media pages and websites at the same time. All events listed on our website will also gain free radio advertising through Shake Broadcasting Drive Around Town community event segment, which runs three times a day, seven days a week.
